Christmas 2015 On Film

This Christmas, in a brilliant response to my vague Christmas list, Aaron gave me a mint-condition Canonet and lessons in using my new (old) camera. I’ve never taken a photography class, so having my very own in-house expert has been a lot of fun and very helpful with technical aspects—there’s nothing better than a gift that results in quality time and a new (or improved) skill.

We got our scans back last week from the first roll we used during our Christmas vacation. Here are some of my favorites, all from the Canonet.

These memories are beautiful to me, and it was delightful to see how many shots turned out OK, too (even the shot with advancement issues was kind of neat). I’m excited to continue learning and improving. I’m looking forward to many more happy film memories!
